Dual Diagnosis – This is awaiting a refresh and update.
Lancashire’s Autism Partnership Board is committed to ensuring that all people with autism benefit from the implementation of the Autism Strategy. Therefore our work will include the factoring in of the many autistic people who have dual diagnosis or people who have never had their autism acknowledged.
In Learning Disability services, for example, there are significant numbers of people who run the risk of inappropriate support, through a lack of understanding from the people around them.
We intend to communicate with all Learning Disability Providers in Lancashire, with a view to obtaining their understanding of, and commitment to, the Autism Strategy. This will give us an insight as to whether people are receiving appropriate support and enjoying a good quality of life as a result.
